History

Thermoform is a young manufacturing firm established in 1994 by Guy Lacerte and Colette Leblanc with the invaluable support of right-hand man Gilbert Mercier, and is the outcome of many years of research and experience in the field of home building, manufacturing and installation of cabinets and doors.

Thermoform is the first manufacturing firm in North America to apply the nesting concept to its field, a concept consisting of gathering orders for production according to their nature as opposed to individual client, which greatly enhances productivity and efficiency.

Thermoform uses highly sophisticated and computerized routers among the most advanced in the world in order to achieve smooth routing and to allow for almost infinite variations of door models by making it possible to choose and mix any of the edge profiles, inside profiles, styles and options in the design of a door. Our Membrane Presses are equally advanced, highly equipped, able to thermoplastify pieces up to 10 feet!

Thermoform takes special care in choosing thermoplastic finish by evaluating every finish with its suppliers from around the world looking for the most balanced finish as regard to beauty and durability. In addition to a palette of over 50 finish from whites, off whites, white wood grains, blacks, wood grains inspired from oak, ash, maple, cherry, mahogany, pear, apple, pine, birch to our famous bird eye maple, we offer over 20 carefully chosen matching melamine backs! Nevertheless, the beauty and quality of a door is not built solely on thermoplastic.

Thermoform doors are routed out of panels of pine fibre highly fit to thermoforming for the smoothness of its surface and by its density allowing details of routing to be nicely shown. Panels are _ inch in thickness to assure door solidity and are made with a special curve to take into account the action of thermoforming. Surprisingly yet, it is in the “pot of glue” that resides the secret recipe for beauty and durability. The gluing process is both vital and highly challenging by its complexity. It is why the process is relentlessly studied and improved on with the collaboration of manufacturers. We are proud of our recipe. Our doors speak of it!

Thermoform is working equally hard in the development of its accessories, particularly mouldings. Our mouldings are made of pine fibre as well to guarantee smoothness and adhesion and are manufactured according to our own specifications and complete quality control. We are the only manufacturer to offer 10 foot mouldings in any of the finish we offer!

Thermoform is growing with you and for you, with now 50 employees to bring you doors you will love and enjoy for many long years!

Thermoform promises and delivers! Beauty, durability, quality!
